Below are a selection of design works I made while studying at California State University Monterey Bay (CSUMB). I studied in the science illustration program at CSUMB and received my graduate certificate.
UCSC Science Article Illustration
I created this illustration for an article written by a graduate student at University of California Santa Cruz (UC Santa Cruz). This assignment was a collaboration between CSUMB and UC Santa Cruz to bring science illustrators and science writers together for a joint project. The article was about the James Webb space telescope and its discoveries, you can read the full published article here.
Fontan Anatomy Explanation Animation
A short animation I made about the Fontan: a type of heart reconstruction surgery to treat patients with single ventricle congenital heart disease (CHD). This animation explains how a Fontan heart anatomy after surgery is different from a normal heart anatomy. This animation is being used for patient education by Adult Congenital Heart Association (ACHA). ACHA is a nonprofit organization that advocates for patients with CHD and promotes CHD research. The animation has been published on the organization’s website, you can view it here.
Interpretive Panel
This interpretive panel explains the journeys and achievements of the five interstellar spacecrafts launched by NASA. These spacecrafts are the twin Voyager missions (Voyager 1 & 2), the twin Pioneer missions (Pioneer 10 & 11), and the New Horizons mission. These remarkable probes have reached velocities that can escape the sun’s gravity and are venturing outside of our solar system and into interstellar space.
